Then the youths went to Osabu's house. "Osabu, we have taken much fresh game." they said. "Now we will give you the heads of all the game we have taken, just as we promised."

While they were talking the youths took a single deer's head and threw it on the floor. Bang, it landed with a crash. Again and again the head hit the floor, bang, bang, bang. Osabu heard the noise and was so pleased with the thought of so much fresh game. But in fact, the village youths were only continuing to drop the head of a single deer on Osabu's floor, and deliberately misleading her in to believing that they were sharing the great bounty of the hunt.
