Why no bats have feathers

“Sky God he said”, “I hate the way I look. I look so ugly. Could you please give me some beautifully colored feathers?" But the God replied ”No”. "Oh don’t say that!” begged the bat. “Please give me some feathers without I am freezing to death.” So the God thought for a while. To tell the truth there were simply no feathers left.
